Gina Smith is a New York Times bestselling author and noted public speaker on technology and biotech. Mike is a long-standing media and internet start-up investor and executive. Currently, Mike is CEO at LiveDeal, Inc a NASDAQ company that delivers classified, IYP and small business services over the Internet. Mike is also founder of First 30 Services, a new company-creation consultancy. Previously, Mike was CEO of DeepDyve, which has developed revolutionary technology for high end search and was chairman of the board of Olive Software, a Sequoia backed XML software developer, where he earlier was CEO. Mike is on the Board of Directors of Good Health Ad Network; Advisor, Aggregate Knowledge; Advisor: SmaSh Technology; and Advisor: Intridea. Mike was also the CEO of Inman News, the leading provider of information, analysis and events to the residential real estate community, and Zinio Systems, which produces and distributes magazines in digital form. Harry McCracken is the founder and editor of Technologizer, a Web site and community about personal technology, from the Web to phones to consumer electronics. In February, 2009 he was named the #1 tech Twitterer worth following by TechRepublic. From 2004 to 2008, he was editor-in-chief of PC World, where he won awards for his editorials, blog, and other work from such organizations as American Business Media, the American Society of Business Press Editors, and MIN’s. He was also named one of MIN’s Most Intriguing People in 2007 and to the Folio: 40 list of media movers and shakers in 2008. Harry covers technology from Silicon Valley, and has written for Family Circle, Popular Science, Slate, USA Today, and many other publications.

John Eckhouse, Editorial Director
John oversees editorial research and content development. Prior to joining Modern Media, John was editorial director of events at The Industry Standard and managing editor of research and events at InformationWeek. John has programmed, hosted and moderated events ranging in scale from intimate focus groups to 1600-person executive-level conferences. He has managed B2B and B2C phone, email and Web research and event experience surveys with up to 20,000 respondents per survey. John’s career as a technology and business journalist spans more than 20 years at publications including Business Week, the San Francisco Examiner, the San Francisco Chronicle and HomePC magazine. John is an adjunct professor at the Graduate School of Journalism, University of California at Berkeley and on the Alumni Board of the Journalism School.
Mary Zagrobelny, Vice President Marketing
Mary is responsible for delivering strategic marketing services for media companies, associations and B-to-B clients. Prior to joining Modern Media Partners, Mary was group director, marketing for Ziff Davis Media working to launch publications, events and consulting services (CIO Insight, Baseline, Smart Partner, Custom/Conference Group and Baseline Business Information Services), as well as creating marketing programs for established Ziff Davis brands (eWEEK, PC Magazine and Ziff Davis Smart Business). Mary also served as a senior marketing executive at CMP Media for such brands as HomePC, NetGuide and Windows magazine.
